Dr. Brisco is a Certified Clinical Homeopath, in addition to being a Doctor of Optometry. She became a Clinical Homeopath to provide more options for her patients, and to treat a broader scope of conditions beyond what traditional medicine treats. We continue to provide traditional vision care such as glasses, contact lenses, and LASIK. We also treat eye conditions such as conjunctivitis, iritis, and dry eye with prescription medications such as antibiotics and steroids. However, as a mother, Dr. Brisco, saw the need for using medications and surgery as little as possible so she studied to become a Certified Clinical Homeopath.

This means we offer patients the “best of both worlds” in treatment options whenever possible. Dr. Brisco is trained to prescribe natural treatments such as homeopathic medicine that is based on triggering the body’s self-healing abilities. Your body keeps you well through your built-in immune system, but sometimes it gets out of balance, and you need help to stimulate the immune system.

The body has an amazing system to protect you from millions of bacteria, viruses, microbes, toxins, and parasites that would love to invade your body. When your immune system is compromised by stress, injury or insult to the body, the pathogens or toxins invade your body and upset the balance which keeps you healthy. Homeopathic medicine also helps your body to repair injury by drawing upon the body’s self-healing properties. Homeopathic medicine can be used as a first-line treatment for a large number of medical conditions, either alone, or in conjunction with conventional medicine.

Dr. Brisco has received extensive educational training to become a Certified Clinical Homeopath. Her educational background includes completing her doctorate with distinction at the Southern California College of Optometry, two post-doctorate fellowships from the American Academy of Optometry and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.

In addition to her extensive educational background, Dr. Brisco is also professionally recognized by numerous organizations. She is a member of the Neuro Optometric Rehabilitation Association, the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, and co-founded the Rehabilitative Vision clinic at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
